Rites of Passage – part 1

Been doing a bit of reading on Male rites of passage and its connection to youth development and spirituality, with special interest in Richard Rohr’s work (Adam’s Return, Wild man to Wise Man). More posts on this to come, but I’ll leave you with a quote to whet the appetite:

“A young man who cannot cry is a savage,

An old man who cannot laugh is a fool”

– Cherokee proverb

One Response to “Rites of Passage – part 1”

  1. Just recently discovered Richard Rohr and I’ve spent some time on his website and blog…in fact he was the major inspiration for starting a blog of my own. I learned of him in the biblio of a book I’m reading by Cynthia Bourgeault, “The Wisdom Jesus: Transforming the Heart and Mind – A New Perspective on Christ and His Message” I love his non-dualistic view and emphasis on the integration of both our divine masculine and feminine. I like the quote…a man who truly can express his emotions is a most sacred man.

    Sacred Grace
